Born into a musical family, Matthew’s journey began early behind the piano and drum set, sparking a lifelong obsession with rhythm. Now a percussionist with over 20 years of experience, he has developed a teaching philosophy grounded in his time studying under first-rate drummers Ryan Korb (Afro-Cuban/Jazz specialist), Mikel Patrick Avery (Chicago Jazz Philharmonic), and G. Maxwell Zemanovic (Miranda Lambert).

Matthew doesn't just teach theory; he applies it on stages across the country. He has toured nationally and internationally with diverse acts, including the modern blues-rock group, Bourbon House. Currently, Matthew is the rhythmic force behind After Hour Animals, a metalcore band with millions of streams and a reputation for high-octane live performances.

Matt operates a private teaching studio in Wisconsin & Online, where he uses his experience to help students of all ages find their own musical voice.
